Don't take it too seriously. First off, I think this show is one of the worst I've ever seen. I don't think it's funny at all. So to me it's just a corny joke. It may be stereotypical, but most jokes are.

Part of the joke of the show is that JD has secret predjudices. This is more of a jab at JD than Irish people. Nonetheless, I laugh so hard whenever I see this, and yes, I am Irish.
