Excuse me Mr. Geekteks man. But how much business do you guys actually get for your laptop repair services. I am wanting to start a laptop repair business as well. I know most of my business is going to be virus and spyware removal services which most people like to have done on-site but there will be some laptop repairs that can't be done in the home. So I am wondering how much laptop repair requests you guys actually get in a year.

Just so you all know, there are actually some honest laptop repair companies around. Right. I know it is hard to believe, but I just had a local computer repair shop, NO NOT THE GEEK SQUAD thank God, repair my laptop and they only charged me $203 for all the repairs! It took them about a week for all the repair to be complete.

Great. But how is that different from what GeekTeks advertises on their website beside being local? And isn't that the point of this video post. I think Geek Teks is attempting to make a point, that you can get cheap reliable computer repair service and not be worried about getting ripped off. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen another company with a price cap policy of $199.

Not all computer/laptop repair shops will rip you off. This report makes it seem that way. It's simply not true. When you take your computer/laptop in for repairs follow these general rules and you should be safe: 1) Converse with the tech that will actually be repairing your computer/laptop (even Geek Squad has some decent technicians). Get a feel for the character of your tech & a feel for the price he will charge. 2) Follow your gut instinct. If you sense that you should not be there, leave

3) Request a copy of company repair policies and procedures. I think Geek Teks hit the nail on the head with this one. They have not only a "Don't pay unless we fix it" policy, but they have also implemented a Price Cap on all their jobs to further insure you are not overcharged. Plus, in calling them I found that unlike the GeekSquad, they do not charge you until you are absolutely satisfied with the prices and service! These are excellent measures to insure service quality and satisfaction.

Good information friendly. I was just about to take my laptop in for repairs when I came across this. I like the gut instinct part. I have found that this has always worked for me. Humans have good 'built-in' ability at judging character in most cases.

Honestly I would never send it to Best Buy, local are 99% more experienced, and some won't charge for simple issue. Also never call 1-877-GEEK-TEKS, Except if they prove to you that all there workers are A+ and WORK FOR THEM. All those companies just call people of craigslist that are kids at home

Actually, all GeekTeks employees are at least A+ certified (not that this means anything, since experience is really the key), and most are also at least Net + & Sec + certified. In addition all must have lots of experience in the field (GeekTeks prefers 2-3 years). They all have a 200 point background check run on them. And finally, something the competition (like GeekSquad) does not do, all technician are held accountable by a client feedback rating system. How do I know? I work for them.

Hey ya'll. Just thought I'd let you know. I found Geek Teks by doing a Google search for laptop repair. After reading their comments here, on their web site, and in their blogs, I decided to risk sending my laptop to them for a power jack repair. I removed my hard drive and shipped my laptop off via their suggested FedEx method. 2 days later, I got a call from a guy named Dave who said he had repaired my notebook's powerjack problem. I am now a happy customer and am typing this from my notebook.
