I had a 92 saturn sc2 and decided to turn it into a road race car. Gutted with full cage and a host of suspension and engine upgrades. Unfortunately I had several other turbo projects going on, a Galant VR4 and Conquest TSi, so when I blew the trans and motor at the same time, I put it on indefinate hold. It was a great car and can make a great platform for turbocharging. My goal was a modest 350whp, which isn't all that difficult. My car weighed only 1600 lbs!

Props to your saturn man After testdriven my sl2 I was hooked mine handle every turn and stock got to 60 in 8.5 secs These cars are highly underated and Its not everyday you can say my saturn sedan gave a supra a run for its money. Thats just awesome keep showing the haters whats up.

you dont need a turbo to have fun with a turd just get the following sps full race port intake manifold sps ported throttlebody aem cai(generic will work) a 4-2-1 header and 2 1/4" exhaust fidanza lightweight flywheel zoom stage 2 clutch msd coils 9.3mm wires and tune it with an afc and it will be a very hard car to catch...trust me thats my old setup and it ran low 14's in the 1/4

I give big props to the little saturn.You can pick up a saturn for under a grand all day,and be proud of what youve got when you can make it go this fast.You dont have to be rich,just smart.My turn to do the same in my hometown,show the little rice burners around here(emporia Va)what a Saturn can do to them.

all that for about an extra 50hp, not really worth it.
forged pistons
turbo/intercooler 10 psi boost,(Boost controller with it)
Shift kit
improved gear distribution
Competition tires, or ultra performance
Or drop a small v8 in the back and you got it won without a turbo. All in all a good car that after driving at least 150k on it you wish it will die.

that "50" extra hp owned 6.0gto's all day everyday without a hitch. its not all about thee power....you gotta know how to drive the car too. and im not sayin your aproach wouldnt work...because obviously it would but beating somebody in a 40k+ car with a all motor saturn sc2 is somethin to be proud about....

Power has a role, and driving skill with an automatic? I was refering to a drag built car with a shift kit and stall converter to help ou the car in the low end. All in all I would go for a low buck turbo build with a saturn, Ill leave straight motor for the V8s
