Actually the leader in this group idolizes Teddy Riley. Yeah, they(Deux) did the silly 80's dance but I don't think their music is boyband-material.(They wrote their own songs) This song was one of their grand attempts at "black" music and the 'Teddy Riley sound.'

I always felt kind of sad that Deux came out when Seo Taiji was dominating the scene; they were popular, but they never got the attention/praise they deserved had Seo Taiji not been there. They're so much better than the music that we see today in Korea. I personally like Seo Taiji more, but I like Deux as well, and always felt sort of bad for them; what timing, huh?

If not for Seo Taiji, who knows if Deux would've existed. The record company probably approved the concept of Deux because of the popularity of Seo Taiji. I like Deux music better though, Seo Taiji tried too many genres (Rock, Metal, Rap, etc).

I don't see what's wrong with variety, especially when one can perform all of them so beautifully. If you don't like Seo Taiji because you thought that he wasn't good, or you don't like his music I can understand, but to not like him just because he had variety? I can't quite understand the logic behind that. But what you said in the comment earlier is probably correct; but Seo Taiji was able to get a start from a small recording company when his style of music was considered outrageou.

Same could have been the case for the Deux. So who knows what could have happened? It's not really that important, because either way, it didn't happen; but that doesn't mean that I can't feel a bit of a sympathy for them either.

Where did I say I didn't like Seo Taiji? I said Deux was better, I liked Seo Taiji as well. However, it's more so due to the fact that I am more into hip hop than rock / metal / etc. You don't see logic in that? Then there is something wrong with you. As human beings we prefer certain things over the other. I never said you couldn't feel sympathy for Deux. I was just putting up a hypothetical situation in response.

It was a bit unclear when you wrote "Seo Taiji tried too many genre." But now I understand what you're saying; you just prefer hip hop more than rock and there's nothing wrong with that. Anyhow, sorry for the other long response.
