Give Peace A Chance---Tacoma Police Riot

Protesters tear-gassed several times in Tacoma while opposing shipments of military equipment to Iraq. Confrontations had happened all night long between protesters and riot police. As you can see here, the police decided to gas everyone while they sung Give Peace A Chance.

That video shows what police had said after a protest in Miami. It might help explain totalitarian police mentality and why they shot at protesters in Tacoma.

You can't block roadways or shipments even if you are protesting. Sorry, but that's life, and a reasonable law... and that's what happens if you try it two feet in front of a group of police officers. Whoever was organizing/leading the protesters to block the road failed everyone there that otherwise was protesting legitimately. And the protesters that advanced on the cops, including one you can clearly see picking up a barricade, ensured an epic fail.

haha they got owned so bad, that dude was like vomiting and then the dude that was whining about getting shot with rubber bullets looked like a total puss. u dont creep toward cops, they get nervous very, very easily. it is perfectly legitimate for u to get a bruise from a rubber projectile or get some oc all in ur throat if that rules out the possibility of groups taking their little "peaceful tea parties in the streets" to throwing rocks, barricades, bottles, etc. at the police

We really need to hire about 40-60 people to do a mock protest for each academy group. Classroom time followed by a realistic simulation is always the highest quality training, I find. But the problem is, some people think they have "rights" that do not exist. There is no Constitutional right to sit down on a roadway that is designated by the Law for automobile traffic. Actions that inherently violate the Law are not "peaceable". If the Law is wrong, we have this thing called Court. Right?

The use of tear gas is easily upgraded to the use of pistols, rifles and shotguns. Are you prepared similarly? Do you have advanced paramilitary training, protective equipment, state of the art communications, well practiced teamwork, wide availability of backup personnel, and the virtually unlimited funding enough to best all of theirs? That's not it at all... It's for public use. They have a right to block traffic IF the public allows it and the city gives them a permit saying so. I bet all those stinky hippies have a copy of the permit on them because they look so organized!
