Replying to myself sucks, I know but I just wanted to add that I'm a choral singer and I've sung Carmina Burana in the royal albert hall etc. This sort of thing fascinates me and I'm looking forward to having a go at throat singing at some stage.

Baha'i has nothint to do with this. (too new 1800) Ural-Altai family language originated from Altai and dispersed into Mongol - Tungus - turkik language trees ect. Prehistoric stuff we are listening here. Well, Shamanism, animism and throat signing was first cradled in Altai. Later they called it Pagan... ... When Shaman convereses with heaven and earth/nature, this is only type of music - throat singing (nature's orchestra) with the dance and drum.

also in addition, Tuva is just as much a part of Russia as is the Altai Republic. They are both in the Russian Federation, so how can one be more Russian than the other. Also, are you saying that the Russian style of playing accordion is superior to Siberian styles?
