Atheist Newdow PWNs Fox News' Cavuto over Huckabee Cross Ad?

Uploaded by: LiberalViewer
Video Description:
As nice as it was to see Fox News host Neil Cavuto even question the recent political ad from Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee in which the image of a cross floats behind the head of the former Baptist Minister as he talks about Jesus, I quickly found it was all just an opportunity to invite on atheist Michael Newdow and strawman Newdow's arguments. In these clips from the December 18 Fox News broadcast, I show how Michael Newdow PWNs Neil Cavuto as Cavuto shows his bias by attacking Newdow and failing to address Newdow's argument.
And, speaking of bias, this video is another of DOZENS of examples you can find on my Fox News Bias playlist at: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=A3BD2524FE99BD4D

I see, then maybe it was wrong. I don't think he was using it for anything, at least it doesn't appear that way, but to each his own. Never liked Huckabee, so I never followed him.

Read what the founding fathers say about christians "not fit for office of any kind " George Washington . "Of diminished intellectual capacity " Thomas Jefferson . Madison "religion has no place in an office of the State " Since the beggining of our nation we were warned of the danger posed by religious ignorants . Lets listen to our founding fathers and vote all Christians out of office !!

oh...there is a way to address the importance of separating church from state. Yet, due to the large numbers of pro-church/state ideologists...this will be a tuff battle. Role models are a major form of subverting the subtle consciousnesses of the vulnerable populace. If the general public do not regard their power of free choice as being important, then no matter what the antithesis folkies of church/state do...the battle is of no use. I am sad to say.

All people have the right to access the religion of their choice. All those who have no need for religion should be given the same respect and admiration. Yet, when a governing body is to be held accountable for making the right decisions at the right time...what would be in the best interest of the public is a person who can put aside their ties to (non)religious beliefs and work towards communal understandings and respect.

Also - Cavuto was incredibly wrong. There were many non-Christian presidents. Being a theist does not immediately denote a belief in Jesus Christ. Jefferson is the proof of that. Along with many others.

I feel that it was wrong...simply because there are people that will ingnore what their plans are and vote simply because 'Oh he's Christian like me so I should vote for him.'
Separation of Church and State...end of story.
Non-"christian", ... ( 1 month ago by newwavewitch)
Non-"christian", sure... but the stretch is only be millimeters. Jefferson and a lot of his contemporaries were what we now call deists, where they believe in God and the Bible, but aren't afraid to challenge it and don't exclude other beliefs as possibilities... benefit of the doubt kind of stuff. Aside from that, what else was there? multiple denominations of Christianity (and Kennedy (who was Catholic)? That doesn't sound "incredibly wrong" to me.

See, there is where you again have it wrong. A deist believes in god. While, to some, maybe an umbrella term, contextually speaking it refers to the fact that Jefferson believed in a higher power, a god if that's what you wish to call it, but not Jesus Christ. Through extension, of course, obviously nothing to do with the bible. It IS incredibly wrong because you don't understand deism and Jefferson. I'll gladly provide some links to letters of Jefferson denouncing christ if you wish.

i think people are seeing what they want or fear to see. has anyone noticed the tree partially covering the "cross" shape which seems more like part of a shelf? notice the objects sitting in one corner of it. hucks position and that of the tree seem to produce a cross. people need to quit looking for controversy in everything and just chill. and not all presidents were christian. especially not Jefferson.

owned, and no- its not worng to appeal to anothers similar likes to gain favor. Similarly, it wouldn't be wrong if I ran for office, someone asked me do I belive in god- and when I said no, they didnt vote for me.
religion is a part of who he is, and thus what we are voting for- why should he not be able to profer what he is?

For those that reside in the U.S. and may not know. A campain like this outside the United States (Canada & Europe) would actually hurt the campain. True, stateing a non-belief in God won't help you, there simply is no such statement at all. A message of firm belief will have you come off as a quack.
Yes because ... ( 2 weeks ago by raspberrymuffin)
Yes because religion, any of any kind, should never be used in politics. Religion is a personal life choice, and should not be a part of American politics, as not everyone is Christian. Bringing religion into politics, such as this one, basically says he only is thinking of the Christians, and forget anyone else as their beliefs don't matter.

There shall be no religious test for office...how unclear is that? Newdow was right and he did PWN Cavuto. I'm not against religion I just want it to stop at my government and my rights.

yes he did and it what mikes well ad says is that were a christian nation which we never were infact the founding fathers went out of their way several times to say in various treaties that we were not a christian country we never were and shouldnt be now unfortunately most forget their american history god and all that was not added to the pledge or paper money until the 1950's by good ole ikes' administration

It was a bookshelf. And even if it was a cross, Newdow is completely wrong. All of the founding fathers talked about God. True, there wasn't TV back then, but isn't flat out talking about their beleifs in God as facts the same thing? Abraham Lincoln, John Adams, Jefferson, Washington........they all talked about it. Our coins say "In God we Trust" It doesn't say "In God, Satan, Allah, etc we trust." So, really, how is this ad any different?"
