Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix in their first feature film, the kids sci-fi fantasy, "Explorers" (1985).
The film did not do well at the box office - partly due to being released on the same weekend as the Live Aid concert - but it did better in video rentals, and has since gained a cult following.
