While it's totally true that stuff like this as been done before, even a long time ago, I don't think it really makes this film any less important. I think the real problem is that not enough movies out there do it. Movies like this are using cinema as a universal language to paraphrase Man with a Movie Camera. People are too caught up in stories and characters to do something like that anymore.

This movie is one of the best cinematic masterpieces of this and all centuries before it.
This movie basicly sparked 90% of all movie effects we currently use in modern cinema this is simply one of the most exhillerating pieces of film ever created THe combination of music and images is just insane. Bow down to the master. Koyaan, Godfather aint got nothing on you.

Theses aren't the same kind of movies. You can't compare a masterpiece of drama and storytelling with an masterpiece with no classic story arc or tension points. This is an experimental movie that is highly regarded in his own gendre, but in no way is this better than the Godfather, or is the Godfather better than this. You just can't compare what thoses two movie brought to the movie industry.

doesnt mean that it's better than godfather, or worse, it just means it cannot "touch" it.

Also, I just prefer this piece of god-inspired-inspiration juice brought to life on film to the godfather. but that's just me :)
