Depression is a Luxury!

Uploaded by: LifeBlissFoundation
Video Description:
From the works of living enlightened master Paramahamsa Nithyananda. In this clip taken from discourse titled, "You Are the Source", Swamiji tells us that Masters may use different words but all of them are pointing towards the same idea. Truth is singular, but Masters have to express it various ways in order to create the clicks in the disciple and to motivate them to look inwards. This is why Shiva, in Shiva Sutras is expressing the same truth in 112 ways. Swamiji also goes on to tell us that only societies that have affluence have psychological problems. The fact that there were so many solutions presented 10,000 years ago indicates the level of affluence in the Vedic society of the past. Swamiji also shares a beautiful truth called Asaadhya Saadhaka -- trying to work on what your mind thinks is impossible to achieve you will not have problems created by stangnant energies. It is the way to awaken all your energies, possibilities and intelligence. The technique that Shiva gives here is designed to solve all your problems and take you to super consciousness. It is not meant to only serve as a antidote to medication. The complete discourse may be ordered online at www.lifeblissgalleria. Com

Stepping outside ... ( 10 months ago by souljaEXVOTO)
Stepping outside the norm of blind or enlightened unquestioning praise in these comments, I must wonder aloud whether those children I saw in India who fought for a rupee or a half a kebab in my pocket were not depressed. What parent too, would not be depressed to have the children go out begging? depression is ubiquitous, natural and universal and it is not always the enemy. but whether you use a guru or a caring doctor, Treating it is a luxury, not having it.

I believe what he is referring to is "depression" as it is defined as a disorder - namely, being sad when one has no reason to be sad. Yes, those who are without food or shelter are unhappy, but they have reason to be -- they are worried about meeting their basic needs. They are not depressed in the clinical sense.

Because all of our beings cannot be motivated by one teaching. Please note the truth is singulat. The same truth is expressed in multiple ways so that it can cater to all kinds of beings - intellectual, emotional, being type individuals, all of whom need the truth to be presented in a manner that can help them get that click so that they can trun inwards.

I agree with realistromeo, when I work with homeless teens that have nothing...that are all about seeking survival....many are both depressed an traumatized. I honor teachings of India...Dali Lama and so forth as beautiful...but I respectfully disagree and find this lovely speaker either naive or above my understanding.

depression is what one feels when one losses the one they love. feeling of deep emptiness. How can the guru say that he didnt know what depression was until he came to this country. It happens to so many of us at some stage in our life and it is a very sad feeling especially the loss of a loved one.

The question is not what he has or doesn't have but whether or not he is attached to these things. My guess is that if all of these luxuries where somehow taken away he would remain the same ever-free. Free to have or not to have - in other words free of greed.
