Alas! The bright rays of equal rights shine through the dark clouds of discrimination. It is a joyous historical time in California and in the lives of souls who truly love one another regardless of their gender. They decide to demonstrate their love and commitment in this solidifying act of marriage. Darn right! It should be an equal right for everyone and it is about time that lawmakers start to use their common sense and logic to conclude this, rather than letting the religious right's personal convictions twist their arm. This is a human rights issue and not a religious issue. Gay marriage is healthy for everyone involved. It is necessary to allow people who love one another to make that commitment of marriage. All commitment is good. The bottom line is that we are all people with souls, and this life is part of a journey we are going through. Our souls grow and evolve and we should become wiser and more loving toward others as we progress in our lives. Our soul is immature if we are self-centered and do not accept others for who they are. If we hate, or suppress another's rights from pursuing life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, then we are immature souls who have a great deal of growth to undergo.
Please go to the Human Rights Campaign Website and sign the "Million for Marriage" petition. The religious right is gonna try to get their policy of bigotry and discrimination written into the California Constitution with an ammendment in Nov 08 but i know it will not succeed. California is smarte
r than that and the people will vote no on the gay marriage ban and send the religious right home with their tail between their legs. Now don't get me wrong, i am a very spiritually-minded person, but my faith in God makes me one who stands against any form of bigotry where I see it. It does not bel
ong in the church but unfortunately history has taught us the Church and discrimination are cousins to one another. That is a reflection of these people's intelligence. That can't be too bright if they are going to follow like sheep those who support prejudice. We will not tolerate it no longer.

Now Gay Marriage is illegal in most states because of bigotry, missinformation promoted by religous idiots who don't know their own faith. homophobia is the word. It saddens me that any lawmaker would vote against providing some Americans the freedoms and liberties other Americans enjoy. Protection under the law and other basic freedoms should not be granted based on one's moral, religious, or family values. People are people and should be treated equally. This is why we shouldn't legislate on the basis of religion, but on the basis of the needs of the people. We have to stop separating people based on their life choices and just treat people like people.

We are to grow toward love, peace, and treating others the way we would want to be treated. If we don't learn it now and here we will eventually in another lifetime. Some religions would say God will thrust people in hell. This is not true, He is more loving then that. He teaches us our lessons through karma and reincarnation.
As far as gay people getting married, that is ok. We are souls, it is souls that love one another. In our different lives we are sometimes male, and sometimes female. -

SO there you see that love is all that matters. When two souls come together and love one another, who can stop it? The law? Hell no! Love is unstoppable, regardless of the genders. They can be the same or different but the fact is love between the souls is there and that is what matters. The world, the church, haters, etc, just have not figured that out yet but they will learn that lesson eventually as their soul journeys through time. The lesson will be being in the shoes and living a life of the ones who just had been killed, abused, terrorized, etc., all souls will eventually reap what they sow. Not necessarily in this lifetime, but in another life. God teaches us what it feels like to be in the other person's shoes. Everyone in CA has gay friends, associates or family members. This is not a discrimination issue. It comes down to whether you want to raise your children in a society that accepts an aberrant lifestyle - in no way do I intend for to sound disparaging. Every scientist in the relevant field of study will tell you that homosexuality is a combination of genetic and environmental factors. if No on 8, then our children will be brought up questioning heterosexuality from the get-go.

That there are environmental influences in homosexuality is not controversial within the scientific community. This derives from twin studies in which one was gay and one was not. Identical genes produce a gay child and a hetero child. There is broad consensus that it is a combination of genetic and environmental factors. You know what I was talking about. Your scope shift is unwarranted. I talked about "consciousness" ala Descartes while you are talking about "souls" in a religious sense.
