As a kid, this song scared me! I had so many nightmares because of this song.
In my vivid imagination I saw little Walter get shot in the head after he opened the apartment door.
At the crime scene, the medical examiners were picking up small fragments of Walter's skull and brain tissue. The scene was not void of blood, no not at all. Blood was splattered within a radius of seven feet from Walter's limp body. Again, this song was not appropriate for young ears.

this song was adapted from" wade in the water" it was raphael saddiqs(ray) idea to use that as the hook, denzil foster changed the hook to hey little walter, thomas mc elroy did most of the track along with denzil, saddiq, and dwaye wiggins , who is saddiqs brother song is obviosly about asmall time drug dealing room mate. oh--- sorry abou those nightmares dude, didn't think this song would have that affect on anyboby.

Original song is called "Wade in the Water". Originally sung by slaves working in the fields, song was actually a code encouraging runaway slaves to walk in the water instead of on land to avoid their scent being detected by dogs.

I went and found out that Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy produced this song, and I remembered that they did the work for Club Nouveau/Timex Social Club and En Vogue as well. After listening to "Rumors by Timex Social Club, "Jealousy" by Club Nouveau, and "Lies" (the radio/album version, not the video version) by En Vogue...I can DEFINITELY hear the resemblance!!!!!. They all have that "mystery" sound, if you listen...you'll see what I'm talking about.
