Ash caught a Gligar, which was aired recently on Cartoon Network in "Riding the Winds of Change". His Gligar evolved into a Gliscor with the help of Gary`s Razor Fang.

she caught it in DP 80 as a yanma which evolved into yanmega in battle. i assume you didn't watch anything beyond the English Dub. in DP 73, jessie releases her dustox and is eventually replaced by yanma/yanmega as her bug pokemon.

yeah, i hate the swinub one. it was funny, but does dawn really need another pokemon? besides piplup, buneary, and ambipom (who originally belonged to ash), dawn didn't give her pokemon much development. i still haven't seen much from pachirisu yet.
as for dp085, i hope gligar's evolution is going to be used in the fifth gym battle. seriously, before it's either Oaked or released by ash...

yeah, knowing that both trainers have gliscor with the assumed genders of male and female (with Paul's being male and Ash's being female), that could be the case. gliscor may be "slow" but it is a powerful pokemon nontheless.

their genders are unconfirmed, but i believe that ash's gliscor is female because as a gligar, it has a smaller tail than the other gligars (in the games, female gligar have smaller tails than the mails). this is according to bulbapedia.
second, i assume all of paul's pokemon are males because he doesn't raise chick pokemon. third, ash's gliscor acts like a girl most of the time, so i assume it's a girl.

piplup is basically the second "pikachu" in the group, so it won't evolve.
it's not like it was may's torchic who had little screentime, even less than beautifly, skitty, and even bulbasaur, who evolved into combusken and THEN became a staple on may's team (it was as a combusken in which may decided to partake it in a contest).
dawn's piplup has been competing in contests as long as dawn was.
besides, one of dawn's rivals already owns a prinplup (kenny).

though i agree with you in the sense that piplup should learn another move, especially a water, flying, or steel type attack.
she also needs to give pachirisu and swinub some contest time because
1): pachirisu only competed in two contest appeals, both of which it lost, and in a 20-second battle in wallace cup.
2): swinub, since it's capture, has not been battling or competing in contests aside from the psyduck battle in which it lost.

Holy shit. Ash has a Gliscor, I stopped looking at the Pokemon anime around near Pokemon Advance, but seeing as how Ash has Pokemon that let me down and never evolved I can keep on going.
