I'm a reason user myself and love the program. Nice video indeed of showing it's power, but making a proper track in 20 minutes is impossible ^^ It can fool people, that think proper music can be done within this time ;) But not to brag, thanks for the vid :)

Hey I just got reason and its an amazing software, But is it possible on windows to make it full-screen? I don't really have a problem with its size, but Its just kind of odd that it doesn't seem to go all the way full. Thanks!

i have a question... can you play an instrument with your keyboard? i mean this where you type... not a piano (keyboard)... I think you understood... It would be great if i could play through my keyboard rather than have to click in the editing mode the piano notes... also: I have a yamaha piano it has an output but it's not midi, can i use it? i think i cant but i'm not sure...

Ok, firstly it's not possible to use the PC's keyboard to output into the keyboard sequencer in reason. BUT... I used the PC's mouse to input all notes and controls in Reason for about 5 years before I invested in a midi keyboard, it's a laborious process but it's easy after a while. Secondly: if you have an electronic instrument that you want to use with Reason it must have a MIDI output or you need a decent sound card in order to jack it straight into the computer. Hope that helps.

its not possible to fill the screen with the rack as the graphics aren't designed to do that however it is possible to detatch the sequencer from the rack (the button is above the vertical scrollbar)

You can use a standard keyboard, download Bome Midi keyboard software and it will take the input from your normal keyboard. Not pressure sensitive like a proper controller but still good for the beginner.

Try the Portamento knob on the synth you are using. When notes are played with portamento the notes will slide from one to the next. If you make your synth to monophonic (1 polyphony) and set your portamento mid way up with the retrig setting you'll get some cool slide effects. Do the same thing only with legato setting the slide will only happen when you push two keys. The rest of the time the sound comes with no slide between them

buy m audios 02 usb midi controller. you will get one for about 100 us dollars. it has 8 knobs a a slider and a pitch and modulation controller. its easy to assigh the knobs and slider.

just got reason, trying to use my midi yamaha piano to execute sounds, but no luck seeing it on reason nor seeing the instruments. I go to violin folder open but is all empty, any tips? tks!

The portamento knob is on the synth within reason - if you create a synth (subtractor, NNXT whatever) and while it's highlighted create a matrix pattern sequencer. The matrix will play your notes that you select with your mouse and the notes will still 'slide' between each other. Then select the synth in the sequencer so that it's highlighted and then in the rack, control click on the matrix, click 'send to track'. you want to send the matrix data to the synth track Don't know if this helps.
