Yeah! Gigabyte has done it again. Placeing a huge heatsink on the backside, wich make it impossible to add a third party cooler. Great job. /Irony

It is flexible.. The backplate.. I have installed a zalman 9700 for the cpu which uses something like a blackplate to install the plastic thing upon the cpu socket. i didn't put it.. i just screw the screws by itselfs..no problem..

not so sure, i have this board, bought it when it came out, and till now its still rock and rollin, right now i have an 8800GTX intalled, sad to say i think it doesnt support PCI Express 2.0, actually Gigabyte is releasing its new 790i board this July and I know for sure that board will support 2.0
