Honestly, whenever I see this commercial I get angry at the subtle racism evident in it. There may be good intentions behind it all, but by making it seem that white America will save all the poor nonwhite people of the world, this commercial seems elitest. The rich white woman will save you all... This seems to play into historical issues... okay, sorry, I needed to vent. I did not clarify myself well, but this commercial was set up in a way that could be viewed by many as racist...

I like the idea of this commerical. I understand the meaning. I try and buy things that support unicef. It isnt about 'white' people supporting poor people as someone basically stated. Do you live in Texas? There are a lot of hispanic people who buy pampers... Anyway, enough about politics. This commerical is meant to help eradicate a disease. Thats all. Nothing more nothing less...

I can certainly agree that I am disappointed that a white woman was the "hero" of this commercial. Couldn't Michelle Obama, or a well-to-do Black woman be the protagonist? Say what you will, the the subtle undertone is that a white woman is not only the saving force for ethnic communities, but also the face of affluence and disposable income.

Why does everything have to be about race to everyone? seriously, GET OVER IT!!! It seems like you can't put a white person in tv, movies, commericals, ANYTHING without someone screaming racism. Wanna talk about racism? Okay, what about BET? what about Affirmitive Action? What about the NAACP and Black History Month? REVERSE racism! People need to get over it already and just move on!

If you pause at 0:30 and read the disclaimer the pamper companies only "donate US$0.05 cents" per pack. I think they should give more i'd be impressed if they gave US$1.00 to provide 20 vaccines.

I can't watch this video without cringing slightly. While its great that UNICEF is getting money for tetanus vaccines (5 cents a pack) the fact is that this is first and foremost an ADVERTIZING CAMPAIGN designed to sell a product and turn a profit. The calculated appeal to people's sense of compassion for third-world poverty just feels disingenuous.

Regargless of how the commercial was directed, created, lets not lose track that it helps babies... all this crap of this, that and the other is irrelevant the commercial touches your heart and thats what counts - those that want to be a critic to the commercial are nothing but the devil speaking - the commercial means well period...
