basically, there is a Inductor (bascially a wire coil of some sort) on the arm that generates a magnetic feild ... when coupled with a powerful magnet, the inductor repels or attracts it ... causing movement ... which causes noise ... I tried this out ... it was fun for a few minutes ... then i got bored so attached it to an amp and blew the coil :o)
