Printing more cash lead to hyperinflation, collapse of the currency, massive unemployment, the disintegration of the government and civil society, and the eventual rise of Nazism, Adolf Hitler, World War II, and 50,000,000 deaths.

Read the rest of my posts... In a fiat money system, the main choice you have is to print more money... That's way it's a B.S. system... And I know all about Weimar Republic... They we're suffering because of the treaty of versailles was a pretty unfair document and you can see the type of extremism when a country is rapped of it's wealth. Or individuals for the matter.

I'm not sure how you reconcile those two statements. I agree that a commodity backed currency is inherently more stable than a floating currency. But the Federal Reserve System was created in 1913 when FDR was a state senator in NY. Why is it his fault?

I'm not entirely sure if you are being sarcastic, but yes. I know it disappoints many conservatives to know that Liberals think America kicks ass too, because they would rather have just another reason to hate us. We don't care about the troops? We are the ones that care the most. We don't want them to be risking their lives any more than they already have. Is this not demonstrating the greater interest in the soldier's well being. Oh and not all of us love Bill Clinton and his Nafta Corporatism

FDR is the last president about whom I love. All the presidents since have been corrupt or total weaksauce. FDR knew how to take charge. Hoover didn't cause a depression; to some, extent, world war two brought us out of it. Politicians don't run the economy or cause economic growth or decline: Politicians may contribute to expanding growth through deregulation or limit through regulation. Hoover's policies were aimed at government regulation and preempted FDR's New Deal--he was a great president.

TR brought the country to a reform with Business, Dem: Woodrow Wilson brought us in to WW1, Hoover, didn't do anything to solve much but he didnt bring the depression. FDR didnt get us out of the depression, World War II did. Eisenhower started the economical rise, LOL Democrat Johnson kept us in Vietnam bringing the dept high. Nixon, a repub tuke us out of Vietnam and made stagflation to help economy. Keep looking more deep.

Perspective please. Hoover did not cause the Depression and FDR did not end it. But FDR gave America hope and created a safety net that allowed us to survive hardtimes without Revolution. With 20/20 hindsight (and using economic theories and data unavailable to FDR), we can see errors in New Deal policies. But FDR was willing to try things and, if that did not work, he would try something else. With his faults, he was the greatest President of the 20th Century.

No, Nixon did not take us out of vietnam, he resigned his office while we were at war. Teddy Roosevelt did bring us into the spanish american war. Woodrow Wilsons decision to bring the US into WWI was reactionary (motivated by the sinking of the Lusitaina, the wreckage of which is curoiusly shattered outward as if the ship were transporting munitions, hmmm.) FDR's new deal was an intial catlyst for alleviating the effects of the great depression. Gee Partyboy, should I keep looking? STFU!
