its all perception but i would have to say joethegiantkilla's list is probably one of the most aggreeable lists amongst people. although alot of people may disagree due to preferences, he is pretty accurate in terms of cult phenomena type bands

i have to say there are quite a few bands missing from that list like Tool. I think what you are getting at is the real "inventors" if you will of thier specific genre, oasis; british indie, the pumpkins; goth rock, nirvana; grunge, greenday; cali punk, Korn; nu-metal, Kiss; glam rock etc etc

i definitely agree with most of the bands on here, and as a list of very influential bands that cover multiple different styles of rock it is quite solid, but I am not sure if green day or oasis are really among the top ten most influential bands and depending on what you label as influential, U2 might not even deserve to be on there. they are a political juggernaut, but their music has not really been represented in too many other things I have heard since. all in all i would say...solid list

amazing in thier own way but this
is Disarm by the Smashing Pumpkins.
Not any U2, or Nirvana, or Pearl Jam,
or any of these other bands you guys
keep bringing up. If you
think his voice is bad than thats your
chioce, you are an idiot but that is your
chioce. Don't compare anything to the
Smashing Pumpkins. No, they aren't my
favorite band ever but i'm with sydfloyds,
