thank you Bill ... ( 4 months ago by monikakaring)
thank you Bill Gatesfor having the imagination, vision, and courage to say these things. I had the opportunity to work with Microsoft and other MNCs to build new business models via partnerships with low income consumers. The new biz models required collaboration across Microsoft divisions; it was clear that Microsoft (and the other companies) was balkanized in a way that made real change almost impossible, though we came up with some wonderful business models which later got adopted. bill gates has ... ( 4 months ago by K1dCharlemagne)
bill gates has personally given 10s of billions of u.s. dollars to africa. the problem is that most of africa is essentially a desert and the people there cannot form a proper agricultural civilization. agriculture is the basis of civilization and eventually economic growth. figuratively, africa's hand will always be out.

Bill Gates is a real model of corporate
social responsibility (CSR). His words..
creative capitalism is great. At present,
surplus capitalism by politicians in the
South countries are the negative effects in the globe. Kampechara P. Bangkok.

"the world is getting better" I dont think so Bill. Technology advances to not mean a better world. In fact its getting worse.

They can't form a proper agricultural civilization because imperial interests force them to only grow products that serve the foreign capitalists like coffee beans, sugar cane, and cocoa.
That's ridiculous. ... ( 3 months ago by Chill4736)
That's ridiculous. Tax is simply a cloaked way of stealing money. Profit motived corporations provide goods to supply demand on the basis that they will profit. Tax steals profit and therefore motive. It is a hurt to society. Health care provided by stolen money is nothing to brag about. Enjoy waiting in lines and getting mediocre health care at the expense of others paying for you to go. Small tax is good tax.

@geniusloch , that's your vision. What reason are you on earth, i think to learn and develop, with that can come technology wich gives us eventually longer lives, dureable power and more control over everything, wich can be bad if used bad. Eventually i think we should get rid of money but need t

true. If technology advances quicker than mankind conscience we end in a world war with our "great technology" guided by mediocre politicians. Who gives me a thumb down please explain the reason.
i'm sorry you feel ... ( 3 months ago by K1dCharlemagne)
i'm sorry you feel this way superjesus, but no one can "force" you to do anything. if the people of africa grow and sell those products across the world and don't make profit/can't feed themselves, it's because they don't care or because they're foolish. i'm liberal yet i don't feel responsible for africa's state of affairs. my regards to africa. if bill gates thinks his misguided philanthropy is actually helping africa and not harming the u.s. economic situation, more power to him. he's wrong.
if what Bill says ... ( 2 months ago by AmigaFalcon)
if what Bill says is from his heart and his actions are genuinely self-less philanthropy, then he is a Saint, imo. If, on the other hand, he is being deceptive then he is a devil. its as simple as that.
Really, that's too ... ( 2 months ago by sykopomp)
Really, that's too much of a manichaean view of things. His entire point, by the way, is that it wouldn't be about being 'sincerely' philanthropic. The entire talk was about getting corporations to do these things purely on market forces. Whether he's being selfless or not is completely irrelevant, and trying to raise someone to sainthood or condemning them to hell is the wrong approach here. The point is that the things he's suggesting could do good things in the world.
I hear he treats ... ( 2 months ago by Shemjazashai)
I hear he treats his employees very poorly. Most people with his attitude are just as generous and self-less as other people... when he wants to be, but on the inside he is also like everyone else... susceptible to greed and power. The amount of power money gives people in capitalistic countries can do some things to your ego... And I'm sure his ego is up there.

When the IMF and ... ( 1 month ago by Quietlydoesit)
When the IMF and World Bank stipulate to cash poor coutries what they must do to be creditworthy, those conditions are always skewed in favour of the developed world. Usury is sinful to deists and oppression to anyone with a moral sense. You can't do anything you put your mind to if the powerful are determined to stop you. Unless you organise.

If America can only put one of its CEOs in the Office instead of the corrupted politicians...America has a lot of great people and none of them are running for the office! I am not american but I happen to live in America and work with the great people of this country...great potential and whatever the media says Americas future is bright. God bless america for what it stands for not for its corrupted politicians with all due respect.

He's given more away than anyone in human history. This just shows that altruism isn't about helping people; it's about hating success.
