Hello! These are really great videos!! I just wanted to ask some advice about babies learning more than one language at home.My husband speaks norwegian and english, and I speak spanish, norwegian and a "little" english :P. We live in Norway so I guess it's important to speak norwegian to the baby but I would like to teach spanish to my baby. Do you have any advice for me? Can sign language help me or make it more difficult?

Boys generally are behind girls in the speech/language department.
But you know there is a problem when they are beyond the age of two and still do not say any words.My first son did not speak at all for the first two years and only said maybe one word going on three,he was evaluated and diagnosed with Apraxia which is something they can outgrow, it is basically a severe speech delay. With the help of a SLP,and sign language,he is now a very smart first grader and the best reader in the class.

Hi, thanks for your comment :-) Signing is a great thing to use in bilingual households. It is a great link to the two languages. Many people I have talked to said it made communication much easier. If you say 'milk' in English and then say it in Norwegian then the baby will understand that both words mean 'milk'. So basically it will help :-) Laura

I've heard of may SLPs using or recommending sign language along side their strategies. It's nice to hear that your sun is such a great reader! What a little smarty :-)

Fabulous!!! I've been doing the same thing with my 19 month old since she was about 4 months. This is a wonderful video and I hope you are very proud of yourself and your little girl.
