| What about the Obese people who are like 600-800 pounds oddly no one calls it a mental disorder just fat and lazy soif it went both waysI could see but its hard to believe for one way and not the other. I would have to see studies on myself because I know for a fact just like they tell overweight people to stop being pigs and stop eating these people can just eat...simple. All these eating issues are mad. |

| yeah i agree with what you're saying. there is a mental disorder called Binge Eating disorder, and also Compulsive Eating disorder, where people have binges and cannot stop eating. i also agree that people who become 600 pounds do have an eating disorder...simply because they are eating in a way that is causing them harm, and even though they might want to, they can't loose the weight. |

| (continue..) i think its all very complicated, eating problems can be caused by a variety of issues, such depression, abuse etc. the causes are limitless. the thing is, you cant deny that its serious problem. yes, if anorexics just ate they would no longer be under weight. yes, if bulimics just stopped purging they would get healthier. yes, if morbidly obese people just lost weight they would also benefit. but its not about the food, its a much deeper then that. |

| I understand and agree...just get upset sometimes my aunt was very obese like big and she was raped when she was ten years old and she ate a lot after but I hate how people show remorse for super thin people, there already treated like models on magaiznes and my aunt got picked on and no remorse. I am 5'10 and weigh 135 pounds (healthy) but look at stories like these about obese people no one shows remorse at all like these women. Both are sad but not treated equal wise. |

| As an anorexic myself, I can see how Brittany feels. Everybody always bashes on her and says she's just trying to get attention, but if you think about it, that's what anorexia IS. A subconscious cry for attention. |

| In all fairness obese people have very different problems, you could say its a mental problem in that they eat to fill something missing in their life. But anorexics look in the mirror and see 600-800 pounds, their brain tells them they are fat, its like a switch that never turns off and almost all of them will never really see how they really look or ever ever be happy no matter how thin they get. |

| please dont get all defensive on me. I said my opinion and my viewpoint from having had an eating disorder myself. and it is true that all eating disorders are at least partly about feeling vulnerable and unwanted. do you even ahve any eating disorder? if not, blackieonassis, then I suggest you not speak so harshly to me when all I did as empathize with a fellow sufferer. |

| My friend is one and no matter what you tell her she is somehow fat. But deep down I feel they know there thin, I mean its not like they see obese and shop in the fat section, but I blame the media all those air brushed models and models losing there lives to be thin means in their minds that if people are willing to die over it means a lot. Plus stress can be a part of it. But they all know there thin. |

| lol I know the facts...trust me. I have two friends now who have it and also when I took a psychology class last term in college I know they wouldn't allow schools to teach false infomation. But its the mind, both friends say its not but its the media if they know it or not everyday girls are showed whats beauty and it doesn't help guys run to the smallest girl in the room.....I had to catch my self five years ago my school had someone there to make sure I ate...lol I know but its stupid. |
