thank you miss! Applegate is an actor, NOT a singer. She prob. got a few months of vocal training before the show opened. I've only trained for about a year, and i KNOW that if played her character on b-way (which would never happen cuz i'm a guy) i'd still have breathing problems and such.
It may not be her best, but this is one performance out of hundreds.

this one performance was one song as opposed to a whole show. If she's out of breath here, that doesn't bode well for the rest of her performances. It is true that she's not a professional singer or dancer for that matter however, the fact of the matter is she shouldn't have taken the role nor should she have been offered it if she couldn't do the job well which, given her performance here, is questionable.

Most songs in a musical gives the actor a chance to catch their breath. I can say this from experience cuz i've done many dancing shows. This performance doesn't have any breaks (talking,costume change, etc.) for applegate to catch her breath.
Also, not every performance is going to be perfect.

the part of charity does not require someone who has a magnificent singing voice, it's costum for the character to sound the way she does in this video,personally for a primary actress she did a nice job.

That's not fair to compare Christina to Sutton. Sutton is practically perfect in every way lol In my opinion, Sutton Foster is even more talented than Idina Menzel, and that's saying something because Idina is great. But Sutton can dance, sing, and act flawlessly. Her face is just so expressive.

oh come on! it's not terrible, it's a new take on Big Spender. They made it alot more fierce and feisty while Fosse's was more scandalous and subtly sexy!
