It's amazing to see Antonio Banderas perform the song the way he does. His skill is such that you notice only his intenze gaze upon the beautiful woman before him, singing the words so smoothly and somehow adding to his performance. That's something I believe to be worthy of playing the Phantom. It's true, there have been 'better' Phantoms (Michael Crawford being irreplaceable) but I'd say as a one-off this isn't bad at all.
As for Sarah Brightman, well what can I say? She's MARVELLOUS.

yeah, sorry to all Sarah fans, but her voice warbles too much. It's a little frustrating to hear, because some of the notes get lost in her operatic voice. I definitely like Christine better with a more angelic voice.
