The Russians who ... ( 1 year ago by ksol1460)
The Russians who died 4 times actually made sense, when I found out their dance was about the Romanoffs and was called 'Rasputin', that's who he was playing! The Mad Monk really did have to be killed four times before he'd stay dead (or so legend says)! There's plenty of videos of this wonderfully outrageous couple on youtube, but no one has that program. Somebody please upload it!

I can definitely see how it would make sense, depending on what music you're using, but unfortunately you will have to stay alive if you use that program in the Olympics.

Censorship and the ... ( 1 year ago by AnnaLee33)
Censorship and the limiting of artistic freedom by bureaucracy. Imagine they would forbid death from operas!!! What a joke! At the end must be a pose. This should be what they artist deems fit.

An opera is not a ... ( 1 year ago by sharkz39)
An opera is not a competition of skill with judges and awards. In the end, the skater is judged on skating skills and how they incorporate artistic flair into their skating. It's not a dance competition, nor is it strictly a artistic event. That is not censorship.

sharkz39 -Thanks for trying to lecture people here, but it was quite unnecessary. I used an analogy to focus on ARTISTIC FREEDOM.-Okay then, an opera is also a competition, -for the audiences applause- and also has a jury,-audience and reviewers. In almost all arts you will also find awards,--Oscars, Grammies, you name it. I guess you get my point now and if not I can't help you.
Giving awards for ... ( 1 year ago by sharkz39)
Giving awards for purely artistic endeavors such as making a movie is totally absurd. Skating is a competition with points awarded based on agreed upon standards to judge skating skills. Eliminating certain moves is not censorship. Too many people misuse the term "censorship", and "free speech" for that matter. Perhaps you could explain to the world just exactly how flopping on the ice is an artistic way to showcase SKATING skills.

Shark, I am not interested in a lenghty exchange with you. You have your opinion, and I have mine and I don't have anything to prove "to the world" or to you, let's leave it at that and if you need to hear that you are right: "You are right". Good bye.

Opinions aren't right or wrong, it's just that some of them make much less sense than others. Good bye, I suppose you are off to Colorado Springs to protest the fact that your Constitutional rights are being trampled on. Power to the people!!!

*laughs* I think this was definitely a necessary rule. Skaters should be judged by SKATING not by falling down dead. Besides, once a trend like this starts up, everyone copies it, and then nothing is different anymore. Drama is good in moderation, but when used too much it just gets old.
