He's been living full time in the States since he was 17. He's stated many times that he's comfortable with speaking with both an English accent and an American accent. Are that sheltered that you can't fathom someone who's comfortable with both accents? Gillian Anderson does the same thing. When she's in in the UK, she has an English accent when she's in the States, she has an American accent. Really, it's not that complicated.
