My theory: they're more concerned about comedy than actual politics. They take some fair shots at liberal goofiness, while satirizing conservatives. But the funniest stuff has little to do with politics--it's in the characters. If pressed, they'd probably say they were conservative Dems or Liberal Republicans. Good stuff.
