With the weakest weapons yes.
With a level 1 sword only spin attacks can actually damage it.

1. This is the GBA version. 2. Pallet change for GBA, I guess. 3. That's the Master Sword, not the upgraded one. 4. Watch the first video.

2. It's is a pallet change the SNES was brown.3. The weapon I'm using against the boss was the fighter's sword. The sword I picked up after the boss was a key item to defeat a spark barrier blocking the way to face the 4 Link clones.
