The training materials were intended to instruct servicemen and women about the use and hazards of depleted uranium munitions. In addition, the training regimen included instructions for soldiers who repair and recover vehicles contaminated by depleted uranium.
Throughout 1996, these videos sat on a shelf, while U.S. soldiers continued to use and work with depleted uranium munitions. In June 1997, Bernard Rostker, The Department of Defense (DoD) principle spokesperson for their investigation of Gulf War hazardous exposures, stated that the depleted urani
um safety training program would begin to be shared by a limited number of servicemen and women in July 1997. STILL TODAY the vast majority of servicemen and women in the U.S. military, and likely in the armed forces of other countries which are developing or have obtained depleted uranium munitio
ns, are unaware of the use and dangers of depleted uranium munitions, or of the protective clothing and procedures which can minimize or prevent serious short-term exposures.

| Had to drill with something like this on a 40-year old aircraft carrier with 8 outdated nuclear reactors. If there was a nuclear leak and your spotted it, you are suppose to stand their like an idiot and tells others to abandon ship. A ship with 5000 people and they have 3 small decontamination rooms. Get the hell out of here. |

| The video shows the devil himself. Your only job in the military is to perform the task given to you and to attempt to stop the threat of contamination. To a 18-year old, that's cool dude. To someone with a high IQ, you are nothing to the military but a loss. As those Iraq soldiers with warped faces. Tell them to come home and flip your burgers like a freak. But no....war and guns are rad cool. |

| It's true or bodies have difficulty, sometimes extreme difficulty, filtering out heavy metals, but it isn't impossible to do so naturally. Sometimes the negative effects of said metals will however cause negative side effects before they can be filtered Naturally. HOWEVER, modern medicine has VERY effective ways of filtering out most of these contaminates with littile ill side effects to speak of. |

But EVERY single one of those men who did die knew the risks of being in the military when they signed up. Soldiers Die, it's sad but it's true. And MANY of those who did die were proud to sacrifice themselves for their cause whatever it may be. Not every one joins the millitary simply to serve their country OR for college money. | The human body is cappable of filtering out every single natural substance. Toxic or not. U-235 though isnt natural. Its wrought uranium which can shatter our DNA's polymers and nucleotides. In few words, ruin our organism. There is no known way to reverse these effects, so U-325 is at the moment the most dangerous substance to use in warfare. It also takes about four thousand years for a contaminated area to cure from all uranium. |

| Mate, now they know. At the first years of the war though, they were told that their opponents will be armed rebels and their job was to neutralize them. They werent told that their AMRAAM tanks would be using sabot rounds, nor that the Iraqis would suicide bomb them. Or worse, that they will be shooting civillians. These are stuff that they learned on their duty there. |

I'd rather die for my country, home and the people i love than see them conquered and humiliated but NOT to save some politic's ass NOR fight some war just for our politic's need for money! | I cant recall the exact words of Rumsfeld but he said "American people need a strong motive to go to war. Something like Pearn Harbor." 9/11 was that "Pearl Harbor" with the only difference that the US government done it now and not Japan. |

| I was in the gulf war, I served on the front line with the 24th in iraq and was in and around vehicles destroyed by this stuff. I am sick and my son has 5 severe birth defects of his heart and has to take hormone shots for the rest of is life. I know it may be hard for some of out there to believe but there are people who love this country enough to risk our lives for your freedom. IF your cantanimate with Uranium You will develope cancer, tumor, boby radiation DNA altered or mutation n so will your KIDs n kids kids(grandkids). It will kill you n when working with them in the battle field. | Use of radioactive munitions is so totally irresponsible, and so typical of the DoD -- there are some places we really don't want to go. It's so unsurprising and yet so sickening, that we as a nation would contenance the use of such toxic materials - and it's not a backup threat like nukes in the cold war, we used these munitions in Iraq. There are true moral absolutes, and if we can live with ourselves in this case, then the US has lost any claim to holding the moral high ground in the world. |
