| While Les is one of my favorite musicians of all time, Oteil Burbridge, Victor Wooten and a few others are far superior, and Les would agree. Flea is a good player, but he doesn't even enter the debate. |

| I saw Victor yesterday with Stanley Clarke and Marcus Miller as SMV, it was insane, deffinately changed my opinion on who is the best bassist :P and I agree on the Flea part, he is far too overrated imo... |

| all the great bassists mentioned below are indeed great...and each one are great with what they do...les can't solo like clarke, groove like miller, dazzle us like wooten(is he human?) or whatever, but he is great at what he does...freaking you the f**k out with original basslines...who the hell else could have thought of that line from about 3:00 till the end? that crazy man... |

| That is something I don't know if I can give you. While I believe that Oteil is technically superior I don't know that any bass player has a more eccentric style than Les. It doesn't mean that I prefer to listen to the others more than Les either. I definately listen to more Les than Oteil or Victor. So you got me stumped. lol. I'll ask a friend of mine who is a bassist and is probably the biggest Oteil fan ever. I'm sure he's know's of something that would suffice. |
