| Well, I think it's more of a perspective look they wanted to put on the stage-to make the buildings look very tall without making the stage large. It looks fine to me, but I think that the stage is just terrible since it's so bland. The detail is really lacking compared to other stages in the game. Just look at the ground for instance. It's one solid color with a slight gradient and pixelated shadows! |

| I think you're missing the point. The main reason I loved this stage is the music, but the background suits Nanaya himself just fine. The detail in the stage isn't there because there's nothing really to detail. If they made another generic city level, it'd just be like the 3 they already had. |

| For those who don't seem to know, this background is Shadow Town, the place where Tohno Shiki fights Nanaya Shiki in the Kagetsu Tohya visual novel. It's a perfect re-addition of the scenery from the game, as the whole fight takes place in a dream world created by Ren. The buildings are distorted in the visual novel, as well. It's intentionally like that. tl;dr, read the damn novels. |
