S9's are good beginner boards, not too expensive, and if the stock stuff breaks, don't worry about buying more for it, just buy a better board. S9's do not beat Landy in carving by the way, it's just that LY is a predominantly speedboard-related company.

S9 just takes every good idea for longboards and ruins them by building them with cheap materials and ends up selling them, sometimes more expensively, at zumiez.
I got in a legitimate arguement with a salesperson at zumiez because he swore that S9 was a good brand.

Yes, landyachtz are quality and S9 is kinda the cheap brand, but if you're a good longboarder you can do just fine on a sector 9. You don't need a $300 piece of fiberglass to get you down the mountain. So if you want to try a S9 go for it. The board does not make the longboarder. Just think about it, the whole sector 9 pro team uses S9 and they're pretty fuckin good.

My friends and i all just got into longboarding and i got a landyachtz first then they all got S9's and i have to admit my landyachtz board is so much better and more comfortable to ride. I even let them try it out to compare and now they're all jealous and want one.
