this is soo stupid! i dont know y pplcompare sharon to amy lee. she is way better.
within temptation has good music but their vocal is not as good as i thought it would be. their lyrics is not as good. sounds very madonna. an their video is soooooo childish with terrible visual effect.
sharon isnt as pretty as praised by many. she's pretty in some of the shot for like a second or two, thanks to the camera man

Within Temptation is all into that special effects and fairies and dark spirits kind of stuff, though Evanescence keeps it real. They sing about real feelings and tragedy and WT is just all fictional stuff.

Not all actually not songs like frozen, some of the songs have very real meanings. Infact they donated all profits from that song to a child abuse charity. So I wouldnt quite say WT only sings about fairytales.

That is your opinion other think WT is better, others think the 2 are simular. I for one think Amy Lee 's music is much more pop like and therefore closer to Madonna than WT, yet I allow others to disagree, you obviously do not. Secondly if you want people to stop comparing the two singers, perhaps you should stop comparing them yourself?

You do realise that Angels is not actually about Angels? It's about people, they just used angels as the concept for the video. And quit comparing. Opeth and NIN are not the same bands, even though they're both male-fronted, so why must Ev and WT be the same because they're female-fronted?

You obviously have heard very little of WT's music, they are is very real. Listen to 'Forgiven' or 'Frozen'. They have some fiction/fantasy, but if you look a bit deeper than just the song title, there are lots of metaphors. 'Mother Earth' is obviously about Mother Earth but also nature in which we cannot control...

Agreed. They're both good, seperate bands. And I wish people would stop comparing them. Opinions are allowed. But it's nice if you don't barge into a WT vid and go: "EV IS BETTUR", because it's prolly crawling with WT lovers. And trotting into an Ev thread going "WT IS BETTUR" isn't very smart either. Ev isn't even close to WT's music. Amy is very different, in voice, in image, and Ev is different in their songs and feel.
