That's a tragedy right there. Treat yourself out man, get something made by Jim Fuller over at Rifle Dynamics. It'll cost you less than the VZ, if you're American, and it will certainly be an amazing weapon.

They look simular externaly, but its totally diferent inside. Vz. 58 the best field gun ever. By the way AK 47 is based on koncept of Sturmgewehr StG 44. And the finish mechanism is based on Czech construction of Emanuel Holek. Shoots under water, I had mine in mud for an hour and when taken out it worked with no probs/with out cleaning.+ you take all parts of and put it back on in 10-15 seconds-Blinded. Try it!!!

just the bolt hold open feature makes me like it more than the ak. But I wouldnt mind having either when shtf.
