Less than five minute video. The ending shows what happens when the workers go home. ICC tree removal near Shady Grove Road to prepare for overpass construction. This $3 billion twelve mile toll road is a huge waste of taxpayer money. Maryland all ready has a huge deficit. This will not help. It will drain money from other transportation projects and existing bridges. We will pay for it for years.

| I thank you for recording this- with great sadness. We have playing in the woods that are being scraped bare by these greedy scumbags. It is a small man that can do this type of work. | Would you be this snide if the thing being constructed along your back fence was a six-lane, 18-mile highway? Come on now, MontCoBum, answer honestly. Granted, a house has an impact on climate change, but there's no real analogy here. You know that. Oh, by the way, you can replant trees, dozens of them, around a house. You can't plant even one tree in the middle of a highway. |

| I understand your displeasure and may be sympathetic to your plight. Believe me, I have no disrespect. I just cannot help myself in identifying a dual standard: i.e. "its Ok for me to cut down trees to make way for my house but not you for a highway". Would it be Ok if it were a developer clearing the tract for housing? The bottom line is that you cannot keep increasing number of vehicles and miles driven without increasing capacity of highways, it is nonsensical to think so. |

| I'm not a planner, but I'm guessing our current transportation debacle is founded in policies set 50 years ago, when all emphasis was placed on expanding roads and highways rather than public transportation. |

| Vehicle miles traveled have been falling for the past two years in response to rising oil prices. The problem the ICC was intended to solve is dissolving in the face of rising oil prices. World oil production is at or near its peak. The time for the ICC has already gone. |
