THE APPLE TREE
Music by JERRY BOCK, Lyrics by SHELDON HARNICK

Press Representative: Boneau/Bryan-Brown
Choreographed by ANDY BLANKENBUEHLER Part 1 A Video Montage by: Ira H. Gallen There are certain signature's an artist has that when ever you hear their name mentioned with a project, you know it's going to be something exciting like Busby Berkley; Gene Kelly, Jerome Robbins; and Bob Fosse. But
what they all had in common besides memorable dance numbers was they had great taste in women. Sorry, it's been a rough season on Broadway with very few good looking women, or dancers to look at, so says my alter E(go)Mails from most of the men in New Jersey and Long Island who have to go to the c
ity on weekends to see a play to make there creative wives happy. So when I hear CHOREOGRAPHED BY ANDY BLANKENBUEHLER, you first know you need a lot of room to place his name, and get the spelling right in the credits; but above else you're going to get a great group of spirited dancers, yes both
men and especially women to enjoy looking at. There name is below Music Direction by, and above Directed by on the PLAYBILL you get at the Theatre, but what makes up a so called choreographer? What is that marriage and the working relationships sandwiched in between the music and direction of a sh
ow? When ever you read reviews about his work in the last year both on Broadway in THE APPLE TREE and off Broadway IN THE HEIGHTS it's the words Sexy, Hot and High Spirited Dance that comes to mind. Andy's the next generation of up and coming sponges to soak in and learn from past masters and his
tory to create their own original art form of movement in dance. When it comes to the show THE APPLE TREE, it doesn't matter if you remember the original show, the recordings or the Cast which I don't, but only that this group of actors is worth the price of admission, and there all great to loo
k at. Well sort of when it comes to leading men on Broadway like MARC KUDISCH who can be considered a nightmare for any male with wives or dates. This talented singer and dancer is a chameleon and can change into any character good or bad at will, and is the guy every woman if those women had those
thoughts, which they don't. But if they did they would have thoughts like that they would think them with Marc, which they will bring up after the show and during dinner. Don't trust Brian d'Arcy at all, I don't care how he reminds you of Gene Kelly in American in Paris, because he can change into
Frank Sinatra in Pal Joey at a moments notice with his singing and dancing talent and you wish you could have his clean cut moves, while he steals the girl away anyway. If I could ask Kristin Chenoweth one question it would be "What the Hell Did You Do To Aaron Sorkin", well that's another story.
If you had to spend an evening watching a mixture of Mary Ann & Ginger from Gilligan's Island with the talent of Carol Burnett, Mary Tyler Moore and Ethel Merman rolled up in a Cleopatra Rug, you're going to love Kristin Chenoweth which we all know anyway.
But as much as you'll love her performance, and be enchanted by her personality stay away, she possess the power that Green and Red Kryptonite has on Clark Kent in Smallville, only it effected a writer so opposed about his relationship with her in his new series to the point of possible cancellat
ion. She is safe around young children and her fellow artists on stage.... I've been told. But it is that mixer of both men and that one woman that makes the after hours so much better when your love one talks about MARC & BRIAN on stage all you do is wonder if KRISTIN is a good witch or a bad witch, either way we all win with a great night out, except if you picked a lousy place to have dinner.
