Don't forget the Conquistadors and the rest of the Spanish and the "achievements" they did to the native people of Americas they encountered! Give me a break! One group of genocidal Europeans pretending they are somehow indigenous, what a joke!

Mexicans and Mexican-Americans cannot be characterized as a "black and white" identity. Mexicans and Mexican-Americans are mix of a variety of cultures and identities. Did you know that there are more that 20 indigenous languages spoken throughout Mexico alone? Perhaps the real issue is why do we still use the word Hispanic to talk about people who have been colonized by Spain? I feel your frustration but I doubt that Mexicans and/or Mexican Americans would identify themselves as Spanish.

What I mean, is why don't we have a NATIONAL Cesar Chavez day? I know California has one on March 31. How about Arizona, where he was born and died. Where he fought for the lettuce workers in Yuma? Que onda Pues? I am not ignorant, it's California only that has the balls to acknowledge Cesar for what he did.
