I really love TCM's extra little features (like the profiles they do on various actors). I highly recommend this channel if you are a fan of classic movies. Clips from many Lancaster films, including "Elmer Gantry," "The Seven Days in May," "Sweet Smell of Success," and "Birdman of Alcatraz."

| The real Robert Stroud you see on the movie Birdman of Alcatraz is quite different from the real Robert Stroud. At a paroll hearing he said "I want out now, I've got a lot of people to kill and not alot of time do do it in. My Grandma knows someone who was one of his gaurds at Leavenworth, he was a very rude evil man. |

| Burt Lancaster in THE PROFESSIONALS with Lee Marvin. Nowadays the pretty boy actors are no one compared to these actors from 60s-70s era. The first Lancaster film I saw as a kid was VERA CRUZ, then THE TRAIN, etc. ELMER GANTRY is my favorite for his acting. |

| Burt was a wonderful actor! He was so versatile and he was always looking for new challenges. It would have been easy for him to do tough guy roles and swashbucklers but he was never content with the easy way. |
