| What I think makes this an interesting period of the band is that the Joshua Tree captures U2 finding their 'funk' in the music. It's definitely happening in their 'Look' as it looks as if they haven't showered in days. And that's of course deliberate to what they're learning; what they're into as a band: roots music, blues, gospel, country. Hard won sounds created by people in hard times. They are stead fastly REFUSING to be rock stars, while BECOMING rock stars in front of us here. Not 4 long. |
