stage presence my nuts! If by "stage presence" you mean exaggerated facial expressions and crazy hand motions that distract from his god-like playing then yes, derek has no stage presence. Frankly, it's much better this way.

Actually the last time I seen him live he busted out a Strat for one song...but he kept it real and stuck with his SG for the rest of the other songs! Afterwards the lead guitarist in my band got to meet up with him and get his picture! Derek even let him play his autographed SG!

He's a great musician. Just seems a little dull though. I just think he should liven up a little, or at least change his facial expression occasionally. Then again he's probably so focused on the music he can't.

Well there are some players who bounce all over the stage, and twist and spin, but let's face it, they are awful (hint: Dragonforce and Fall out boy.) It's cool that you recognize that even though he seems a little emotionless he plays amazing music, since there is people here who think that makes him a bad artist.
