Anti-Pornography Law - Indonesia

Conservatives in Indonesia see the new anti-pornography law as a stepping-stone to imposing Sharia Law. But moderates claim the law criminalises women.
Under the proposed law, kissing in public or wearing short clothing would be outlawed. "They're trying to push Indonesians to be conservative", fears feminist Dr Gardis Aviva. The bill is being promoted by the Islamic Defenders Front, led by a cleric who studied Whabbism in Saudi Arabia. But oppon
ents argue that Whabbism goes against traditional Indonesian culture. "We have a very different tradition of Islam. We have never had a history of adopting Arabic culture," explains Dr Ariva. Already, Sharia style laws are creeping into many Indonesia towns.

We shall stop Evil by any mean Necessary.
the problem here is not the pornography itself...yes pornography is bad and should be stopped by all means necessary
BUT THE PROBLEM IS THE DEFINITION OF PORNOGRAPHY IN THE BILL
pornography will forbid women from showing any "skin"...while this is ethical in Arab culture, iNdonesian culture is not like this...woman have the right to express themselves and wear their cultural dress!!
"Kemanusiaan yang ADIL dan BERADAB"
Saya setuju pornography itu tidak beradab, tetapi tidak semua orang itu porno, jadi YANG LEBIH TIDAK BERADAB ITU ADALAH MEMBUAT SUATU UNDANG2 YANG MENGOBJEKTIFIKASKAN WANITA!!! Welcome to the republic of Taliban
menyesal......bodoh......
