Stop feeling sorry for eva characters, especially Shinji; They could have stayed as LCL forever and be happy with the HIP, but Shinji threw it all away. Plus, Asuka didn't accept it either, since she was on the beach with Shinji at the end. They are both spoiled little punks.

I don't get you people. Why do you try so desperately to search for a "good ending" for the charcaters? Why can't you leave the masterpiece as it is, with an end which has no answers, and raises a lot of questions? I mean, if you search for a "pre-diggested" animation, go see "Justice League". ;-P

You know, there are different levels of bitches. And many people learn how to cope with what they had to go through.........but i think what is hated the most is that she demands from everyone else what she doesn't ask of herself. Like a criminal judge, or a corrupt cop, or any other example you'd like to pick up. Her words loose all meaning and authority, exactly because she does not what she demands from others. Take instead Rei, she does not speak, but does it all.

Hey naty? In Evangelion all are quite mad, and i mean the main characters, but each one is mad his or her own personal way. But what people can't stand of her is she demands what she does not. Kind of asking "mercy" if you've been a complete assasin merciless sonofabitch....double discurses, you see?

She had a flawed personality yes but thats the charm of the series everyone had flaws, Misato was an alcoholic, Shinji was whiney, Rei just did what ever she was ordered because she was a clone and felt she had no worth otherwise.
Oohh yeah in japan they just released a DVD to try and explain a lot of things i'm hoping it makes it to the west

If "flawed personality" is the euphemysm for "being a complete bitch, then yes.... ROFLMAO. Nah, i'd say all the main characters were fucked up in one way or another, and simply quite mad. In my opinion, the "charm" of the series is the evolution of Rei, the only one who actually matures and learns something through it. She learns to smile, to love, to make up her own decisions, to cry, to feel and at last, she gains self respect. The rest starts and finishes exactly the same, or almost.

i remember something along the lines of her mother trying to get her to commit suicide along with her in one of Asuka's flashbacks, i could be getting confused with when the first Rei was killed by Dr wasserface.

Its not the fact that she is alone but everyone in Evangelion is essentially missing something in their lives but Shinji and Asuka both like each other its just their personalities that get in the way Asuka is overbearing and shinji is quite but good video nice song!

Yeah i always thought one of the best aspects of eva was the ambiguity with the ending, it creates so much debate and you just want to watch it over and over again just to understand a little bit more. But id still be interested in seeing the alternate ending because it would make me feel better cause i remember the first time i watched it i felt pretty messed up =P

I wouldn't say it's "ambiguous". It's complex and open to different interpretations, because it leaves to you to decide if Shinji decides upon the fate of Humankind and what does he decide.
