America has 3% of the world oil supply, but we ship much of Alaska's oil overseas now. Jimmy Carter created energy policy so US oil companies couldn't close refineries, or ship overseas. He opened up all of Alaska's offshore drilling sites,&95% of the potential inland sites. Republicans in Congress gutted 2 of those laws.The faked oil shortage in 1999/2000 was a result of Mobile exxon buying out small refineries/shutting them down,& slowing production in their own....

Republicans in Florida blocked opening offshore drilling sites off their coast. I suppose you forgot. Reagan also gutted the cafe standards that would save tens of billions of barrels of oil every year. If you haven't noticed, gas was cheap when Clinton was President EXSCEPT just before the elections-.89 cents/gallon in 1998. Under BU$H, gas is SUPER HIGH, EXCEPT just before the elections,dropping 50 to 80 cents/gallon in one month, then back up again. This isn't rocket science.
