I'm not totally convinced that the current is the addiction, it may be part of it. But, I imagine the whole repetitive and tedious nature of "auditing" is trance inducing- not to mention having to come up with reasons that the meter needle moved- surely an induced false memory would ensue.

Agreed, the e-meter is not the cause of brainwashing/indoctrination, but is an integral accessory to the overall crimes being committed. Some are more susceptible to the low, constant-source direct current than others, just as some find or do not find relief from muscular pain through TENS therapy. In either case (TENS/e-meter), despite the low current involved, there IS a biological response. This is irrefutable medical fact. The degree, of course, is variable and to some extent debatable.

For someone that has done some auditing just to see what it is all about I can tell you first handed what is being asserted here is pure lies and misinformation but what would any of you that has no first hand know would know? That is the problem with third party information. Until you check it out for yourself you can never know the truth about a thing. The feeling I get from all Anonymous people is evil intentions. The truth will come out one way or another.

The person who produced this video offered links to more information, all of which cites recognized studies and works as back-up. I cited my proof but it will take work on your part to know the truth. It is not that I disagree, it is I know first hand what the truth is. You assumed that I am a Scientologist, I am not but I have experienced auditing and read many Hubbards books. A lot of stuff is being said and held up as an explaination and proof yet are just words with not proof behind them but you will demand I give up my proof yet it is Anonymous that is doing all the talking.

I acknowledge that you cite first hand experience as proof, but it sounds like you've not experienced the "full deal". Many have studied all the public-domain texts of the CoS; doctrine and internal communications, policy, etc - anything that is available through litigations and discovery and public records has been thoroughly studied. No, the E-meter is not the *cause* of brainwashing, but this "does nothing" device is used an awful lot for their practices, sec-checks, word-checks, etc. Why?

The problem is is that a good chunk of information about the Space Opera, the E-meter, Operating Thetan levels, and so forth are all available in the public in the form of really obscure writings like the bok Scientology: A History of Man. So, I'd suggest reading up on Space Opera. Sounds like you're going to need it.

Of course anonymous' intentions are evil...they are your SPs. The fact of the matter is, the Peer Review process used to evaluate the function of the e-meter is as "third party" as you can get. Independent verification. If the anon in this vid is lying about what the e-meter is...then tell us what it is.
