Well, it would be more accurate to say that cable TV was in its embryonic stages, and cable coverage was very spotty. There was no Nickelodeon or MTV, HBO was just just getting off the ground, and Cartoon Network and Comedy Central did not exist yet. CNN? The closest thing there was to CNN was Ted Turner's station WTBS
