Well theres a few bands that are like really really modern sounding but still progy, give pineapple thief a listen, its a bit like radiohead mixed with something like black field, thats another one blackfield. Porcupine tree, now day marillion has actually got really good again. Threshold if you like a bit more heavy music. Enchant a quite a good band, Spocks beard are one of the best prog bands to see live. Flower kings. Transatlantic are a super group that are amazing, Check them out

As a Genesis fan, I have always liked Yes. This song is the prog ballad anthem for Yes as Afterglow was for Genesis. I find myself listening to this over and over. Tremendous.
Now, two questions that have no correct answer because both are so very different but...Jon Anderson vs. Peter Gabriel and Steve Howe vs. Steve Hackett. I am a Collins era Genesis fan myself, but Gabriel is true prog Genesis. Let the debate begin! Maybe we should ask Bill Bruford...He has playe

Gilmour is one of the best slide/steel guitar players. Jeff healey ( the best), is more blues. But Prog, Gilmour and Steve Howe are without similar.

Steve Howe and David Gilmour are the 2 BEST guitarists ever. They can play anything and what they put into their playing cant be matched by any other guitar player. Their music touches the very depths of your soul and takes you to another dimension...at least in my opinion.

I think u're right pal! if you listen Marooned from Division Bell or "One of these days", you'll see a quiet good slide guitar. I think I prefere Guilmour, because he is much more elegant playing than Howe. And it is hard to be vocalist an guitarist at the same time.

I think Gilmour is better even than Howe.
In my opinion is the best ever, 'cause he can play four simple notes like no other,in a way that you can't reproduce, with a really personal feeling (take a look at "shine on you crazy diamond" for example).
