| I know what you mean. I don't know if you mean just for drums or for all instruments in general but I think it holds true either way. Most of metal (not that metal isn't awesome) is just committing complex patterns to muscle memory. Jazz requires a certain... touch... although I'll never figure out how those metal drummers can do those double bass kick drum 16th notes. Then again I'm not a drummer. |

| Awesome. I started between the ages of nine and ten, so I got a pretty early start. Trust me, if you keep building up slowly and steadily, you will keep finding here and there these little things that you can now do but couldn't do just a day before. For example, the 32nd bass drums in the middle of Tom Sawyer. I couldn't do them for a long time, yet I worked hard and I one day did them. Great work, keep working hard! |

| I've been playing drums for 30 years and I am absolutely speechless! I was playing on a Bugs Bunny bass drum and homemade snare drum to Jimmy Smith and Wes Montgomery at your age...in my parent's basement. You're playing live at 8 years old?! I would not have had the balls to do that at that age! Keep at it, young man! |
