sometimes you can't use integration seprating variables etc. so we use direction fields to find out information on how solutions behave for example there are no methods of solving an equation like dy/dx=x-y^2 and there many applications of odes such as in engineering physics and astronamy and more.

Lol, I probably am showing off.
And no, I didn't have any help. No one in my family (or anyone I know)knows anything about Calculus. It just took a lot of hard work and reading a lot of books. 'Twould have been easier if I did, but less satisfying.

Dude, applied math ... ( 3 weeks ago by Slimdawgc)
Dude, applied math uses tons of differential equations. You can't survive in applied mathematics - or even advanced business math - if you don't know differential equations.

Yeah but you didn`t understand it.
I'm 16 now (just finished sophmore haven't skipped any grades) and I've been doing Calculus since I was 14 too but everytime I look at a different textbook or listen to someone else teach it I still realize there are certain things that people do differently and therefore you can learn something different each time.
