I know it almost too well. CCR - the whole band - was my first real love. For a while it superseded ;) my own family: mother and two younger brothers.
After these years John is still my hero. But CCR reached the fame and broke up entirely too soon.
John would have been more reasonable if he would have done music together with Tom including Tom's own pieces.
I read John really misses his brother and thinks if he had let him sing once and a while they would have made some really good hits.

no 2 Bro's are gonna have the same style.1 is as just as good as the other. its like gears and cogs it takes a group with lots of time playing,to find the timeing to meet each other.sure john may have lead but it took some one who loved him to follow that long, to assist in makeing the group what it is today.a joint effort! tom has a great sound. who played bass and drums for him bet were gonna see the names of Doug Clifford and Stu Cook in a few tracks.sad we lost him.RIP Tom.

You are spot on my friend,this is Toms best song by far.JOHN was CCR he wrote produced sang and played the CCR sound,what did the others achieve without him.Doug and Stu still live off his music with their crappy revisited band.

Are you crazy dude,is the ridiculous reggae tracks he recorded on his solo albums the Creedence sound,NO John was the Creedence sound.

This sounds pretty close to CCR to me. Hell, this IS CCR with Tom singing lead. Why someone can't support Tom or Doug or Stu without being marked as "anti-John" is beyond me. I'll take Tom's solo stuff, you can go listen to Eye of the Zombie.

Of course John made the band. You think me saying Tom's solo material has merit means I think Tom is better/more important than John? John was CCR but following the break up John's material, while more successful than Tom's was less like CCR. That's not an insult to John by any means. I guess John could just move on.

Together they made the band! The pre- Creedence tunes shows us a band in fact that was standing up.They grow up to stardom in such a short time that only John was able to hold on.....To much in a short time, pity!

I agree, this has to be John. At the end of the video it says, written by Tom Fogerty. If you listen to Tom's other songs (Show Down and singing with Oda) his voice is softer and more like other singers, not so unusually unique like John's voice. (Without a picture will we ever know?)

If John was playing guitar then they were getting along. That is great!! Sure would be nice to see the video. If you look at the RUBY video, Tom's voice is softer, so that means he has two different sounds, not just one.

It's a good song. Clifford and Cook are on it too. Some say that John plays guitar on it, but doesn't seem to be so. He did play on some other tracks of the album "Zephyr National", from which "Joyful Resurrection" comes. I read that John recorded his attributions when the other guys had left the studio. On the back of the album cover he was mentioned as "J.C. Fogerty", not "John Fogerty". "Zephyr National" was the one and only album after Creedence on which all four members played.

You sure can't get away from those genes. Tom's and John's voice are almost identical. The sad thing is John and Tom never made peace before Tom died. I love John dearly, but he is a hard, hard person.

People don't seem to understand that great singers like Tom Fogerty can sing in a variety of styles and it is not a surprise to me that he sounds as good as John as he is after all his brother.

Tom Fogerty was a great singer and musician, however i believe that CCR wouldn't have been the greatest band in history without Johns song wrighting, focused on political issues just as at the present with songs like Deja Vu all over agian and Can't take it no more... But of course they are or where both great musicians!

I think the dynamics between Tom and John was the real reason that Tom's lyrical voice was not able to be shared in the music of CCR but dont be mistaken he still had a huge influence on Johns writing. Not only that but Tom was his older brother and was front man in their earlier bands Tommy Fogerty and the Blue Velvets and later the Goliwogs. If you listen to Tom's solo work his political voice is aparent. John isnt one to share the spotlight,even as he hid from it. Tom was an amazing artist.
