They are joking. I may be wrong but I think they are making fun of all the Iron Man Comic Book fans. I had heard they were up in arms that a movie was being made and were concerned that it not ruin the integrity of the cold war era comic book series. You know, some of those fans can be pretty protective and quite funny about knowing just how their heros should be portrayed.
